Course Overview

The dual course is designed with the support of the Guest Building Group for Guest Building
Learning Pty Ltd (GBL). The course will provide you with skills and knowledge required to lead and manage any Building and Construction project within both commercial and residential building space. GBL will deliver dual qualifications of CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building & Construction (Building) and CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) as one program. The delivery will involve:

  • 12 clustered topics that cover both qualifications
  • Practical application in face to face workshops.
  • Additional tutorial support

Builder licensing varies across States and Territories and additional units of competency may be required to meet builder registration requirements in various States and Territories.

Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) (CPC40110):

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in:

  • 16 units of competency:
  • 13 core units
  • 3 elective units.

Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) (CPC50210):

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in:

  • 18 units of competency:
  • 13 core units
  • 5 elective units.

Assessment Methods: May include combination of Projects, Case Study, Knowledge based questions, Observations and Role Plays.

Course Duration: NSW: 24 months approx. (fortnightly classes).

**It requires commitment to attend training and to complete assignments within specified deadlines. Learners will be expected to make this commitment before being enrolled in the program, and deviation from it during the course may result in them being withdrawn.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills on Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel are recommended
  • Students are required to complete LLN Assessment and go through Pre Training Review with GBL representative to assess course suitability and career aspirations.
  • Pre requisite: CPCCBC5001B-Apply building codes and standard to the construction process for medium rise building
    projects is a prerequisite for CPCCBC5018A- Apply structural principles to the construction of medium rise buildings.

Students to note, enrolling in dual qualification (program) in Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) and Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) may impact their eligibility to access further government subsidised training.
